Abstract

This study employed a descriptive-correlational research design to investigate the motivational level of faculty members and its relationship to organizational commitment and work performance. Data were collected using survey questionnaires from faculty members in allied medical courses at Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus and the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents were millennials, predominantly female, Ilocano, Roman Catholic, single, and held permanent positions. Regarding professional profiles, most respondents were undergraduate degree holders and allied health professionals and had participated in a limited number of seminars. The results showed that the faculty members were intrinsically and extrinsically motivated, effectively committed and demonstrated outstanding work performance. Significant differences were identified in motivational levels and organizational commitment when categorized by personal and professional profiles. Additionally, the analysis revealed a significant relationship between motivational level and organizational commitment, indicating that higher motivation is linked to greater organizational commitment. However, motivational level was found to have an insignificant correlation with work performance, suggesting that motivation alone does not strongly influence performance outcomes. Based on these findings, the study recommends that academic administrators prioritize employee development through internal promotion opportunities and sufficient training programs. Further research is suggested to explore the nuanced relationship between motivation and work performance.
