Abstract

The study explored the classroom pedagogies of the multi-grade teachers. Specifically, it determined the classroom pedagogies of the teachers and the challenges encountered by the multi-grade teachers. Qualitative analysis was employed to examine the responses of 25 multigrade teachers regarding their classroom challenges. The study revealed that teachers employed various pedagogies in managing their classes, including classroom management, collaborative learning, differentiated activities, connecting lessons to real-life situations, ICT integration, and demonstrating flexibility. The teachers also faced various challenges, including time management issues, a lack of parental involvement and community participation, and inadequate supervisory support from the school head.
