Abstract

This study addresses the critical need for an efficient alumni tracking system at the University of Cagayan Valley, overcoming the limitations of existing manual methods and outdated record-keeping practices, to enhance institutional effectiveness and curriculum development. The primary objective was to develop a web-based Alumni Tracer System to systematically collect and manage alumni data, including employment information, job matching, and other relevant details. This information serves as crucial input for curriculum improvement and institutional assessment, aligning with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) requirements for tracer studies. Utilizing a descriptive analysis and developmental research design with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model, the system was designed with distinct roles for the Administrator, Coordinator, and Alumnus. Key functionalities include alumni database management, event postings, survey management, and report generation. A custom questionnaire assessed the problems encountered with the existing manual tracing process and the system's compliance with ISO 25010 Software Quality Standards. The system achieved an overall mean of 4.73 in the ISO 25010 evaluation, indicating a "very great extent" of compliance across functional suitability, performance efficiency, usability, security, maintainability, portability, compatibility, and reliability. The implementation of the system aims to address challenges related to data collection, reporting, and alumni engagement, ultimately supporting the university's pursuit of quality education.
