Abstract
This study aimed to assess the physical activity and nutritional knowledge levels of grade school learners in the Alcala West District, Schools Division of Cagayan, during the school year 2024–2025. It specifically sought to determine the respondents’ profiles in terms of age, sex, school, and nutritional status, analysed significant differences in physical activity and nutritional knowledge levels based on these demographic factors, and examine the relationship between the two variables. A correlational research design was utilized to analysed the relationship between physical activity and nutritional knowledge. Survey questionnaires were administered to 102 grade school learners, and their nutritional status was obtained from school records. Descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis were conducted using Jamovi statistical software. Findings revealed that most students had average physical activity levels (66.7%) and average nutritional knowledge (69.6%). Significant differences in physical activity were observed across schools, with no significant differences based on age, sex, or nutritional status. Additionally, the study found no significant relationship between physical activity and nutritional knowledge, suggesting these two factors operate independently. The study concluded that while the school environment plays a critical role in shaping physical activity and nutritional knowledge, standardized school-based physical activity and nutrition programs are recommended to ensure equal access to health education.References
