Abstract

The study assessed the wellness services and medical support extended to Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel through the Enhanced Monitoring of Police Overall Wellness (EMPOw) Program. Based on the Social Ecological Model, the study evaluated whether different health status categories, classified into light and severe, influenced personnel perceptions of program effectiveness, including disease prevention, risk identification, treatment, compliance monitoring, and overall impact. Using a descriptive-inferential design and systematically stratified sampling, a group of 336 PNP personnel aged 40 years and above was surveyed from the Police Provincial Offices and the Regional Headquarters of Police Regional Office 2. Results showed that EMPOw services were generally rated as effective, but personnel with highly severe health conditions reported significantly higher satisfaction across all wellness dimensions, indicating that the program strongly catered to this population. The study identified that vital signs check-ups, laboratory tests, and psychological counseling were the most efficient wellness interventions. The findings revealed the need for fitted, accessible, and proactive health services to ensure the inclusiveness and sustainability of the program and ultimately help create a healthier and more resilient police force.
