Abstract

This study aimed to design and develop a Patient Monitoring Record System (PMRS) for Balmaceda-Miranda Dental Clinic to address the limitations of its existing manual record-keeping process. The system was developed to automate patient information management, appointment scheduling, treatment monitoring, billing, and report generation while ensuring data security and accessibility. The Agile Software Development Methodology was employed to facilitate iterative development and continuous stakeholder feedback throughout the project lifecycle. Data were gathered from dental practitioners, clinic staff, and selected patients through surveys, interviews, usability testing, and focus group discussions. The developed system was evaluated using the ISO/IEC 25010 software quality standards, including functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, and portability. Findings revealed that respondents strongly agreed that the existing manual system was inefficient, with an overall mean score of 4.63, highlighting issues related to record retrieval, data security, reporting, and file management. Evaluation results further showed that the developed PMRS achieved a very high level of compliance with ISO/IEC 25010 standards, obtaining an overall mean score of 4.50, interpreted as Compliant to a Very Great Extent. Functional suitability obtained the highest rating (M = 4.70), demonstrating the system's effectiveness in meeting user requirements. The study concludes that the PMRS significantly improves record management efficiency, enhances data security, streamlines clinic operations, and supports better patient care delivery. The system is recommended for full implementation and continuous enhancement to support the digital transformation of dental healthcare services.
